Iran among World’s 10th Biggest Steel Manufacturer

According to the World Steel Association, in February 2021, Iran ranked tenth among the world’s largest steel producers.

China with 83 million tons, India with 9.1 million tons and Japan with 7.5 million tons are the first to third largest steel producers in the world.

In terms of production growth, Iran with 11.5 percent growth in February 2021, has the highest production growth among the top ten steel producing countries.

Since December 2019, the world has been facing a widespread outbreak of Covid-19 disease, which has largely shut down industries, factories and caused countless economic losses in the world, but the growth of steel production in Iran remains positive. In contrast, some countries, such as the United States and Germany, saw production decline.
